1. marvel   verb   

原句: They put  a virtual pet in your car, he marveled, and it actually changes the way people drive!

意思: to be very surprised or impressed by sth

字源: Middle English (as a noun): from Old French merveille, from late Latin mirabilia, neuter plural of Latin mirabilis ‘wonderful’, from mirari ‘wonder at’. 

例句: Everyone marvelled at his courage.



2. tally   verb   

原句: You chat with other viewers, play games designed around the ads and tally more points.

意思:
a. to be the same as or to match another person's account of sth, another set of figures, etc.
b. to calculate the total number, cost, etc. of sth

字源: late Middle English (denoting a notched tally stick): from Anglo-Norman French tallie, from Latin talea ‘twig, cutting’. 

例句:
a. The two accounts tally precisely well.
b. When we tallied up the cost of moving, we decided against it.
