1. exploit verb
原句: So surely people trying to make money will exploit that to the fullest.
意思: to treat sb unfairly by making them work and not giving them much in return
字源: Middle English: from Old French esploit (noun), based on Latin explicare ‘unfold’, from ex- ‘out’ + plicare ‘to fold’. The early notion of ‘success, progress’ gave rise to the sense ‘attempt to capture’, ‘military expedition’, hence the current sense of the noun. Verb senses (mid 19th cent.) are from modern French exploiter.
例句: What is being done to stop employers from exploiting young people?
2. ubiquitous adjective
原句: He knew that some people would view a world of ubiquitous gaming with fear.
意思: seeming to be everywhere or in several places at the same time; very common
字源: mid 19th cent.: from modern Latin ubiquitas (from Latin ubique ‘everywhere’, from ubi ‘where’) + -ous.
例句: Blue is derived from the ubiquitous indigo plant.
3. distraction noun [countable/uncountable]
原句: More comfortable and employ advanced optics to filter out reflections and other distractions that can cause eye strain.
意思: a thing that takes your attention away from what you are doing or thinking about

例句: I find it hard to work at home because there are too many distractions.
4. recruit verb
原句: He and his colleagues recruited 200 children.
意思: to find new people to join a company, an organization, the armed forces, etc
字源: mid 17th cent. (in the senses ‘fresh body of troops’ and ‘supplement the numbers in a group’): from obsolete French dialect recrute, based on Latin recrescere ‘grow again’, from re- ‘again’ + crescere ‘grow’.
例句: The police are trying to recruit more officers from ethnic minorities.
